THE RULES

Really? I don't like podfic either but audiobooks are done by professionals, and a great way to pass the time during a long car trip or commute. I don't get how you can just dismiss a fairly big industry that's been around for decades as "embarrassing"

Yeah, audio books are pretty fantastic too. Some of them are really well acted, and it's not always just one person reading a book. But work that's done for free (podfic, librivox) can be very hit or miss, probably because the readers just don't have the resources to make the highly polished versions.

In any case, I'm a person who avoids sex in fic in general, so I only listen to fics rated T and below. I'll read M and if it happens to contain sex scenes I skim those. So the objections the other anon has about listening to sex doesn't apply.
