I feel like I must just be dumb, because I can never seem to find the numbers I actually want, whether I look on nhl.com or War on Ice or whatever. Like, I wanted to look up which teams had the most and least PIMs, and neither of those places seem to list that stat? Is there a website that has ALL the things, or do I really have to go poke at a bunch of different sites?

You can find penalty minutes on NHL.com. Go to Stats and select Team. Then in the Category dropdown, select "More" and in Reports, select "Penalties". And then you can click on the PIM column to sort. Right now the Jets, Canes and Sens are tied for most minors, Kings and Jackets for majors.

sa Sorry that's wrong: most minors tie is Blues, not Canes.

Ahhh, I see. I think I just find that site's navigation very counterintuitive. :P

no problem nonny. I know what you mean, it's nice they're trying but the stats page is really awkwardly built lol

It was harder to find than on the older version of the site, but I got to it on NHL.com (for some reason it's under "more" rather than "special teams"):

http://www.nhl.com/stats/team?reportType=season&report=penalties&season=20152016&gameType=2&aggregate=0

I'm not sure how accurate it is though since most stats people seem to side-eye the league's site these days.

The penalties should be accurate. Either a penalty was assessed (and put on the game sheet) or it wasn't. It's not up to interpretation in the way where a shot came from or what counts as enough physical contact to be a "hit," which is where the stats disagreements come in.

Thought this was kind of interesting since it makes Shea Weber look much better than some other fancy stats.
