5. John Tortorella coached them, and the best thing they got out of that debacle was a second round pick from Columbus more than a year after they fired him.

6. Their AHL affiliate (Utica Comets) was in the Calder Cup finals last year, losing to the Manchester Monarchs in 5 games.

But the best thing we got out of it was Torts storming the Calgary locker room and Bobby Lu starting a Free Torts campaign. He had the room so solidly then, it's amazing he lost it so hard and fast.

Wait wait. Do you mean Lu started a campaign to get Torts fired?! Because I'm not saying he wouldn't, but holy crap.

No, no. After Torts charged the Flames, he was suspended, and forbidden contact with his players. The #freetorts campaign was supporting him.
