#18 – If you owned a bar, how cheap would your shots be?

This is the eighteenth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

Atkinson/Johansen, male lactation + reproductive coercion

I loved all the lactating parts, but the weird push for Cam to reproduce from both the doctor and Joey was a hard no for me. And the probably-tampered-with condom at the end...eeeek. That shit squicks me so hard.

I understand this is all a matter of personal taste, but by the time I finished I really wished I hadn't. It's a shame, though, as I really liked all of the other stuff by this author. I just didn't realize how far the coercion would go in this one, and it left a bad taste in my mouth big time.

It seemed to end at the right time to me. Cam gives in and tacitly accepts that he'll be impregnated, either this time or a future time, and that there's no point in fighting it. It's a depressing ending, but it felt like a resolution to me.

I thought the author foreshadowed the ending fairly well, and it read like like a fairly standard "oh shit, the victim succumbs" horror ending to me.

I agree with you, ftr, it basically ended in the middle of a scene. Even one more sentence would have made it less abrupt.

they're such a good darkfic writer. their halloween mcdavid/ghost fic is probably my favorite of theirs for that reason.

this fic was really borderline for me, but i think their in-fic awareness and presenting what's happening to cam as weird/creepy/manipulative saved it as a good horror read for me instead of squicking me out like a lot of mpreg played straight does.

I felt like it was really effectively creepy, with all of these strands of fucked up-ness that we slowly realise are going to be fulfilled rather than resisted/ defeated. (otoh I really didn't read it for the kink, but for the fucked up-ness and the horror).

But I can totally understand it being a hard no/ it was really unsettling (but purposely so, at least?) and I felt that both from a plot and character arc perspective, with the horror being written in such an understated way, the ending point was quite effective? we, as readers, can infer that cam has basically stopped resisting, that against his own will has started wanting the scenario, and that it probably will happen.

Man, this fic is so fucked up and super hot. I think in terms of sheer hotness it beats all the others except the dogfucking one.

Oh, god, the Ekblad one. I don't know what's with this fandom, but I only like my age difference and incest fic with a heavy dose of dirtybadwrong, so I tip my hat to them for that.

And I thought their alternate endings were cute. I, too, am endlessly torn between what flavor of awful I want from any given fic.
