I've always imagined them kind of purplish? It sounds weird now thinking about it...

I feel like I've seen purple used in anime at some point.

In anime they're usually red, purple, or blue. And pulsing and veiny. And attached to demons.

Not that I've watched a lot of tentacle hentai, or anything.

No, of course not, me neither, but that may also be how I imagine tentacles, to the point where I'm thrown out of it if the author mentions they're human-flesh colored.

NA I've never encountered it in the wild, so I just now realized I'm incredibly squicked by the idea of tentacles being human-flesh colored.

I've read some fics where the tentacles were multicolored and some had stripes, spots, etc. Apparently I like my tentacles more festive and lest body horror.
