Wasn't that about Taylor Hall?

Taylor Hall's the one who tried to get a girl to let him fuck her in the ass by offering up a Gucci bag.

Taylor Hall is also relatively notorious for having zero game beyond "I'm Taylor Hall, I play in the NHL, wanna bang?"

lbr, it would work on me. He's good-looking and his body is ripped.

Also, the stories about him being a jerk to women are just rumors. He seems like good enough people in interviews, and not that this has anything to do with niceness, but his stats-nerdiness is cute.

Oh, yeah, public personas, those are way more trustworthy than pretty much everyone (not just women, although there are enough individual "rumors" from them for me to be side-eyeing you for brushing them off) who has encountered him in the wild and lived to tell the tale saying he's a dick.

Where there's lots and lots of smoke, there is probably a fire.

Is there really any more smoke than that one comment on reddit and someone saying "yeah I've heard the same"? I tried to find more when I first heard about this and gotta say, felt more like an awful lot of talk about smoke.

There have been a number of different stories from different people, rather than the same story being repeated. The Gucci bag one is just memorable.

IIRC his name was coupled with Zach Kassian's in some nasty stuff in juniors.

Yeah, but what I meant was that I just keep hearing "there are stories" and when I go looking for them I hear again "there are stories". It's kind of hard to find the actual stories, just people repeating that they've heard there are some, so it must be true.

Why it bothers me and I'm digging around: a fandom friend was a victim of a toxic attack where it was claimed she was many terrible things, including an actual pedophile. After a lot of repeating it stuck and now I see posts from new people in the fandom warning about her and saying that they don't know the details, but "everyone's saying she's really terrible, so it must be true, right?"

Not that I don't think it's completely possible for Hall to be an asshole, and not that it probably bothers his life that much what the rumours on the internet about him are, true or not, but it has made me suspicious with the "no smoke without fire" things.

Oh for God's sakes, no one is calling Taylor Hall a pedophile and you don't need to Nancy Drew receipts to protect his nonexistant honor, nonny. It's insulting to your friend to compare the situations.

Taylor Hall is a fucking asshole. I lived in OKC when he was here and he was horrible to everyone he encountered, including the women he fucked. He pulled the bathroom garbage at a bar here too. You can believe the bunches of people who all agree with each other that he's a cunt, or you can pretend he's a sweet cute little stats nerd, I don't care. But don't act like the entire internet is conspiring to besmirch his name.

... Yeah, that's exactly what I said, sure, receipts to protect his honour that I couldn't care less about and him being called an asshole = my friend being called a pedophile...

Thank you for providing something more than "everyone says so", though.

I'm not at my computer at the moment so I can't provide links. If you want to research, go to r/hockey and dig around for the personal experiences with NHLers threads. There are numerous accounts from people who say they personally witnessed behaviour ranging from rude/crude to bordering on criminal. Of course, they're still pseudonymous accounts, so decide for yourself how much weight to place on them.

Yeah, like, I've heard plenty about Hall through the years with pretty minimal digging, and none of them were glowing reviews. I don't feel like going through every gossip forum I've skimmed (I doubt anyone does, hence people mostly just saying "there are a lot of stories." Because there are a lot of stories). Reddit definitely has multiple people telling different stories about Hall with people saying that sounded in character for him, which is sufficient for me because I don't see the point of however many people typing out "He was similarly douchey at a bar I was at!"

At one point right after he was drafted one of the Oilers sites wrote something not totally complimentary about Hall and they got an email from one of his parents. (No one should listen to this story because for the life of me I can't find the actual blog post about the email. Too much of my life reading Oilers blogs)

Also. I know many people are pissed the Oilers have so many number one picks. But I will never apologize for Connor. Because Connor likely means Taylor Hall won't captain my favorite hockey team. And that's worth every bit of the draft lottery hate.

I didn't want Hall to get even an A and I am not an Oilers nonnie.

He's one of the guys that yeah, I'll still read fic about him, but I basically think he's a RL asshole and would not be surprised if he's the next NHL player to get investigated on sexual assault charges.

I know he's a really good player. But if we have to trade him for a defenseman I won't cry.

I've been hoping that any trades Edmonton makes in the off season don't involve Eberle just for you, nonny! I got the impression that RNH was more of a front runner on the trade front, but this is mostly because there were rumors my team might be interested in him.

You can of course believe whatever you want about Hall, but do you really think that the way people behave in interviews, which everyone including their mothers and their employers will see, is in any way indicative of how good a person someone is? Most people can and do modify their behavior depending on the circumstances and what they think they can get away with.
