#23 — Brown Goes Down

I am already a little thrown because everyone is known as Ms/Mr. (Initial). Names have power, and it makes sense, but I might have to strip all the periods after the initials to soothe my own pettiness.

Also, Fleury's name on the card Marc Flower? such a creative pseudonym, right. (I lol'd)

For that anon wondering, there is a lot about bees in this fic, but sadly, barely anything about beekeeping, so there's no loving description of that.

Favorite quote: “I’m not know, I’m werebear, not werebee.”

That line was for sure my fav line in the whole fic. And fwiw, the Mr./Ms. Initial thing goes away pretty fast.

Did you also feel like there was too much baking in this fic? Enough that I felt like it needed a baking tag instead of a beekeeping tag. There is so much baking in this fic.

NA - Although James Neal does become Jamie for a few paragraphs there, and I wasn't sure whether that was meant to be more name weirdness or what.

I am halfway through this and really not enjoying the 'Sid basically ruined his own life and made himself miserable for years by being too dumb to know how his own magic worked.' Does it get better or should I stop here?

I stopped for the same reason. Completely ruined the emotional tension for me.

Yeah, that bugged me, too. Also, he's getting control over his magic and building a family, but he doesn't even think of contacting his parents and sister?

I wish this fic had Sid coming to terms with this powers on his own or with Geno's help as some sort of journey instead of having quirky matchmaker Ovi come marching in to move things along. I'm just so over incredibly overbearing friends meddling in other people's romantic lives trope.

At least, if it was with a k, the reader would immediately know that you intended it to be like that. And didn't actually think his name was Flower
