"A story about sex addiction, life, and love."

I am almost tempted to read for the trainwreck value, except I think it's just going to squick me instead. If any braver nonnies choose to risk needing brain bleach, *please* tell meme about it, kthx?

DA

I would try but my name is actually Amy so NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPE

Well, the writing is terrible. I'm pretty sure sex addiction doesn't actually work as it's described in the fic. And there's some skeevy consent stuff that I don't know if the author intended. (Tyler follows Amy into the shower without her knowledge after she has explicitly turned him down.) And there's no ending. It stops with no resolution of the main problem.

The sex addiction is the most annoying bit, actually. Without it, this could be a semi-interesting if poorly-written story about a young woman making a bad decision and having to live with the consequences of it. With it, I'm not sure how responsible she's supposed to be for her actions. It feels like the sex addiction is supposed to give the best of both worlds - she gets to cheat on her boyfriend without actually being culpable because she can't stop herself. But if that's the case, then Tyler goes from mere total asshole to actual rapist, which I don't think is what the author intended.

I give it a 4/10. Neither good enough nor bad enough to be worth reading. You won't need brain bleach if you choose to dive in, anyway.

So, are they both addicts or what's the story? I'm not sure from your description.

Oh, sorry, that comment doesn't really function as a coherent story description.

Amy and Jamie are dating. Amy is a sex addict, though in her case this mostly manifests as a strong attraction to Tyler. Tyler doesn't seem to be a sex addict, just an asshole who wants to fuck his best friend's girlfriend. There's no greater motivation assigned to him as far as I can tell.

Thanks. Does not sound like the fic for me.

ayrt

Thank you and the rest of the brave nonnies who read and reviewed this, because I now know that for me personally it's not enough of a trainwreck to override the skeeviness factor.

+1

If it was true badfic I would be all over it, but this just seems badly thought out.
