Not sure that's the best name for a team in the same division as the Kings. Especially since their colors are apparently going to be similar.

Thanks! That would make sense.
I'm a bit confused that his graduation class is 2013, because in the 2012-13 season he already played in the AHL. He only played three years for BC, so did he not graduate and that was the year he would have graduated in?
If I understand graduation classes correctly the 2014 class has Kevin Hayes and the 2015 class Johnny Gaudreau, strong competition in the future. (TIL Dumoulin and Gaudreau were teammates.)

A lot of guys take distance and summer classes to catch up.

Yeah he would have been the class of 13, but I think that they just refer to themselves that way regardless of actual graduation, since most of them finish their degrees via summer classes or whatever anyways.

2012 was the last year BC won a national championship so I think there's a (mostly for jokes) competition between the two classes because they obviously didn't win in '13. Regardless, he got lots of points for '13 this week and I kinda love that he felt the need to post that as a caption on a pic of himself with the cup.

I saw someone suggest the Black Aces. Which I kind of love.

Yeah, "class of 13" can refer to the class incoming in the fall of 2009, regardless of when they actually graduate. To clarify, you could also refer to the "graduating class" of whatever year.

Now I want to know which classes he took, and I want someone to write the AU where one of the many college hockey players on the Pens was a history major and spends a lot of time geeking out over obscure historical details with Sid.

Baby goalie Maguire was an American & New England history major.

The BC website never takes anything down, so if you google you can find his little player profile which says that he was in the business school. But he had to take 2 history classes for the core? /BC nonnie

I like it, but "black ace" already means something in hockey - it's the guys who get called up to hang around in the latter rounds of a cup run.

I for one am so into it. I need to hurry up and leave a comment to that effect. >.>

Saying a little prayer for the first black Knight, may he have endless patience and a ready blocking finger.

NAYRT but that would be exactly why I'd love it, even though there's no way they'd actually be the scrappy underdogs/odds and ends roster that name might imply.

Also would require hockey to have a sense of humor, so...

The owner's high school alma mater was the Black Knights and he's already incorporated the company he used for the team bid under that name.

(it's the name of the Vegas team in check please because it's been a front runner and is also the author's favorite name for an expansion team)

The best players on the team would be the rest of the league's fourth defenseman and backup goalies, to say nothing of the leftovers at forward. I'd think that would qualify them for scrappy underdog status.

Don't forget old and overpayed vets to bring them up to the salary floor!

I think that tweet has been deleted. What I was really getting at is that there were a variety of factors, although that Drew Doughty looks up to Scuderi a bit probably didn't hurt.

Thank you for that info! According to his Twitter he is also a Crosby fan. I like him already. I dream of a better day, when chickens can cross the road without being questioned. Me too buddy.

I'm just glad to see Crosby's shaved that thing off his face sooner rather than later.

They don't have to make the floor in their first two years, is my understanding. Just 60 percent of the cap.

One of my co-workers has that posted over his desk. Only his says "without their motives being questioned."
