#24 – Not Sure If Serious or Playing Dumba

If rumors are to be believe from reading reddit. One of the Blues player is dealing with a shoulder injury. Wonder which player...

From the previous round there were rumors about Fabbri having an MCL injury and someone else having a hand injury. I wondered if the hand injury was Tarasenko.

The injury reveals post-eliminations in playoffs are always something.

St. Louis Blues eliminated in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs in 6 games. Final score 5-2.

...have you been posting these for every team or is this a new thing?

The Warriors are on the brink of elimination and the Sharks are going to the Stanley Cup Final. This is not the May the Bay Area expected.

Do Jaskin and Polak know each other from somewhere? They held up the line so long talking to each other that three Blues players queued up behind Jaskin with no one to shake hands with. (In contrast, Elliott and Pavelski were pretty brusque, but the announcer promised me that "they'll get together again this summer in Madison.")

I'm so confused about what this is asking.

This is the first post like this I've seen all post season, so I wasn't sure if I'd just missed the others or what. But I'm fairly sure everyone in the GDT is aware of the outcome, so it seems a bit redundant.

No? I've only watched 2 elimination games that weren't for my team and I wasn't on the GDT either of those times.

Hertl quickly skating to the front of the picture-taking and then realizing he's too fucking tall was so weirdly endearing. Especially since his solution wasn't to skate back, it was just to take a knee. (And then Tierney gamely follows along so it's not just Hertl, lol.)

They're both Czech. Maybe they've played in the national system together at some point? I don't think their time playing on the Blues overlapped.

Polak used to play for the Blues and both he and Jaskin are Czech. I wasn't aware of them being particularly close, though.

I looked it up, and actually they were with the Blues organization at the same time for a number of years! I completely forgot they drafted Polak originally. They weren't on the same team all that much except for in 2013, where I'm still not sure if their games overlapped before Polak got sent down, but I'm sure they were friendly during training camp all those years.

So according to Sullivan, starting Fleury in game five was primarily a chance to rest Murray, and this was communicated to both goalies beforehand.

Even if that's not true, it's an excellent way to frame the narrative. Sullivan seems to be really good at seeing the story from the best possible angle, and it's working for him as a captaincy style imo.

Yeah, I know rationally that it's a necessary move since we don't have the cap room and so many guys have contracts up this off season. And it's better to trade him this off season instead of waiting for him to hit UFA, but I'm still going to be totally heartbroken when the inevitable happens. :(

Having Parayko around does soften the blow a bit because I really love that kid. And on the bright side, we've also got really great prospects in Schmaltz and Vannelli, and even some up-and-coming LHD with Dunn and Lindbohm.

I just wish we could keep everyone forever. Sigh.

I feel like having gone through the Oshie trade has prepared me for this. But only a little.

Oh man, I feel you there. Although I still get sad when I think about Oshie sometimes, even though I think the trade worked out really well for both teams. And I really like Brouwer! And Oshie's doing really well with the Caps! But I still really miss him. :'(

(Honestly, if Shatty gets traded I will probably be doing my best Libby Lu impression because I have a lot of emotions and absolutely zero dignity.)

The first time I saw it I thought it was intentional, like someone jokingly calling him by a mangled version of his last name -- and then I saw the tag and was like whoops, accidentally gave you too much credit.

Okay, I'm still really, really sad that the Blues got knocked out (but shockingly less heart broken than I was last year), but I just want to say congrats to all the Sharks fans on meme. I'm happy that you guys finally get your first appearance in the finals, even if I hate being the ones you knocked out to get there. The team looked really amazing all series and they definitely earned it. Good luck!

These Sharks have looked 2012 LA Kings-like at times, much as that comparison might grate.

I'm still sad, but the joy of Sharks fans I've seen everyone is actually kind of infectious. I'm happy for you guys!

Thank you, nonny, that's very kind. I have to admit, last round I was getting ready to root for the Blues if the Sharks got knocked out - you guys have a really strong, likeable team that has a lot going for it. Especially since so many of your guys are so young. I know it's kind of a cliche, but I'm liking your chances for next year.
