I wouldn't be totally shocked if he gets put in the lineup and then injures himself drinking water on the bench sometime during the first period.

Auston totally was staring at Connor.

Poor Plots will never score again. He must be approaching a year without a goal now.

This is terrible, but he really needs a different job. Like, there's being somewhat injury prone and there's Beau Bennett. I feel genuinely bad for him, but there's no way he's getting resigned and the fact that he could injury himself breathing is a liability.

Flower's in tonight (my heart says yes, my mind says it doesn't matter), and Daley's out for the rest of the season with a broken ankle. :(((( That makes him crawling around on the ice because he couldn't get a stoppage even worse.

Yeah. Earlier this season he said he considered for the first time that hockey wasn't for him, but then he got over it, and I was like dude, possibly you should reconsider.

Does Auston have a black eye in that pic?

i get notifications for him on my phone but otherwise don't keep up with the pens, and it seemed like he had completely unrelated injuries every other month.

so ia, i wouldn't be surprised either.

And they didn't medal I'm not upset as I thought I would be

Ferraro was just talking in the vaguest possible terms about guys saying no to joining team USA for worlds, leading to a young team and relative lack of auccess compared to that potential roster. Any of y'all have any context as to whether that's the case? Like, who of the NHL teams that were definitely not going to the playoffs would/could have been on the first US roster? Did anyone on your team definitely say no?

On my quick scan and from faulty memory, and not at all cross referenced with who's ever been part of the US system, I've got Pacioretty, Eichel, and, uh...

I'm sure he could get a job within the hockey world - training, coaching, lingerie modeling, etc. - but at this point I think that's something he'd have to consider seriously.

I'd read it. While the press is creaming themselves over the McEichel rivalry Connor's quietly sleeping with the other American supertalent? Here for it.

Meanwhile Eichel grudgingly acts as interference and a general media distraction. VERY grudgingly.

I felt the Eastern Conference side of things got more coverage, probably fairly as the story there has had more to offer. Just more interesting footage in the locker room with the Eastern teams too. It's interesting how both Pens and Lightning have post-game best player traditions.

Also noticed DeBoer was the only coach without a locker room pre-game speech soundbyte. Did they choose not to air it or were they not allowed in the room?

Agree that it's just a lot of game footage so far and kinda boring. Doesn't have the Road to the Winter Classic storytelling acumen even with the loads of narration going on. But I guess HBO set a high benchmark and the Epix series hasn't lived up to it either. Also probably an access issue, can't imagine teams want anything distracting at such a crucial juncture.

Shame, I don't think the pens have a good chance without him.

It looked like he had one in the shot they just showed of him in the handshake line against Russia, although it could have been a shadow because he had his visor on still.

So Jack totally went up to Canada to hang out with his former teammate for half a season, Jamie McGinn. This made me wicked happy, because I am totally here for the two of them and was super upset when he got traded

*fingers crossed he comes back to Buffalo next season*

*I also found it funny how when the wine bar tweeted out that they were there, they only @mentioned Jamie (and the Avs lol)...poor Jack and Brock*

AYRT
I just google imaged him and it looks like he generally has deep under eye circles. (Not that I seek out pictures of eye and nose injuries, like Conor Sheary's earlier. That'd be real weird.)

I think Marcus Foligno usually plays for Canada, doesn't he?

DA

also Pacioretty, Schneider, Faulk

I stopped watching halfway through because of the emphasis on the East, honestly.

Schneider was still recovering from an injury, but in terms of Devils, Palmieri is another.
