Yeah, they blatantly couldn't care less. As if it wasn't annoying enough to be the also-rans, teaming up with a bunch of random countries who are usually your rivals (guess that one German nonny, the Norwegian nonny and me Danish nonny are all on the same side now!)

True, I'm feeling a lot of kinship with other European* nonnies right now, lol.

If this was an inspiring movie against the ridiculousness of the NHL, they'd win. Alas, this is our cruel reality. I wish the "European" players would say how they really feel about it, lol.

*excluding Finland, Sweden, Russia and the Czech Republic of course!! My new bitter enemies! ... I'm just kidding. :P

I'm a European nonnie from a country where there's practically no (ice) hockey presence at all, and I'm soooooooooo excited for team Euro. I love all of the European players anyway, so this team's practically tailor-made for me. If only the jerseys were prettier...

I like the European players too which is why I'm all like "THEY DESERVE BETTER!!", lol, I may be a bit dramatic... Either way, I hope they're all having fun at least.

And yes, the jerseys are terrible. Probably was a 5 minute design job. Just another thing showing how much they care about this team...

Me too! But since my country doesn't have a decent team, I root for Canada during anything hockey related.

Also, the jerseys are ugly.

I love the jerseys! The logo isn't anything special, but I really like the shade of blue they chose.

This is what annoys me so much.
They call it World Cup and yet there's a team for well, all the countries with not enough NHL players to fill out most of a roster on their own, but lol team Europe should totally make you happy,no?
Meanwhile, the US and Canada essentially get two teams to cheer for (while I think the young guys team might make the actual team USA worse? Correct me if I'm wrong!).
And I'm not trying to rain on anyone who is looking forward to this parade, it's all well and fine as long as it won't be used as an excuse to keep NHL players from competing in other international tournaments.

World Cup is such a ridiculous name for it considering there are only 2 continents represented (well, 3 if you count Asia for Russia) and that, like you said, not even well... Just be honest and call it NHL moneymaking extravaganza.

Yes exactly. Call it the "we want to showcase our stars tourney" or whatever, and be done with it, hell I can even see the appeal of that, but don't try to pretend this is some kind of legit international competition.
