#24 – Not Sure If Serious or Playing Dumba

This is the twenty-fourth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Eyebrow Bracket

Nominees have been narrowed down to one candidate per team! I used randomresults.com for random seeding and created a bracket on google docs, which you can peruse here:

There will be five rounds, and voting for each round will be through google forms. I'll stick each round in its own subthread for organizational purposes.

Each matchup is on its own page. You'll need to click through each page and hit submit at the end, but you don't have to vote on every matchup. I used the team headshots for each candidate--for Hilary Knight, I had to use one of her Team USA headshots, and for Erica Kromm I used one of her photos for the Inferno (It's a bit smaller than some of the others, so sorry about that).

I was thinking of having voting for each round open for 3-4 days, with this round ending at 12pm EST on Monday, May 23rd. If you think more/less time would work better, let me know! Also, feel free to campaign for your chosen candidates (i.e. link all the pictures/videos/gifs that you can find) in the comments!

Wilson vs Pirri was so hard. So hard! Most of the others had a clear cut winner for me, but that one was a struggle. Though the universe is also unfair in taking either Monahan or Price down in the first round.

This is awesome, deker. Thank you so much for putting it together and organizing it. And someone asked me about a stat about arch quality, so we should probably come up with a brow-zone-qual or something.

The results from Round 1 are officially in! There were a few close races, with Fabbri, TVR, and Josi edging out Saad, Tanev, and Barrie, and a few blow outs (sorry Chris Wideman and Drew Miller. I'm sure you'll come back stronger next year!) There were also a few players who seemed like favorites going into the first round who got knocked out by other heavy weights. Alas, poor Rask, Monahan, and Sceviour. Your brows will be missed!

Thanks to everyone who voted and commented! I'll have the next round of voting up either today or tomorrow.

One thing I am grateful to the eyebrow bracket for is alerting me to how pretty Marco Scandella is. Am I voting for him because I like his eyebrows, or do I simply like his face? Who knows! Certainly not me!

What this showed me is that I don't like eyebrows that quit halfway through and feather out on the outer part. I need a solid stroke throughout.

This eyebrow bracket has made me more aware of everyone's eyebrows. I spent my entire bus ride judging eyebrows and trying not to stare at super impressive ones.

It's mostly made me more aware of my own eyebrows, lol, which is not really a plus. I actually plucked one of them when I realized how asymmetrical they are.

I'm like "Faulk and Josi are pretty evenly matched." when I was voting. Check the results and they were 50/50. So yes, very evenly matched.

So, this was obviously a tight race, but the first official winner of our eyebrow bracket is... Carey Price!

Final vote counts were 19 for Price and 18 for Knight.

I have no idea what the prize is for being the winner. Internet bragging points that he'll never actually know about? Consentacles? Eyebrow-centric victory porn? All of the above? Feel free to offer suggestions.
