My sympathies for someone choosing to follow people who annoy them: nil. My sympathies for them coming to the venting thread to complain about it: also nil.

Especially because it's like, what, the third similar vent in three days? Hate the guy all you want, no need to punish meme for your poor twitter following decisions.

There are tons of reasons why somebody might continue to follow someone who occasionally talks about Crosby. In my experience, somebody making one tweet isn't enough reason to unfollow but many singular tweets from many people at once is annoying. I think it's stupid that "uh why don't u just unfollow??" is the automatic response to these comments when clearly it's not happening since people keep venting about the same thing. We all know how websites work and where the unfollow button is.

Yes, it is annoying. I can understand there being reasons to not unfollow (but you can surely mute someone temporarily can't you), but if you've chosen not to extricate yourself from an annoying situation, why do you need to then go and annoy everyone else about it?

I didn't make the OP comment so I don't know what to tell ya ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I just think suggesting people unfollow like it's a brand new idea that hadn't occurred to them is silly, and it's not going to stop people from venting about stuff they don't like on their TL or dash. because it hasn't, so far.

Why haven't you extricated yourself from an annoying situation and scrolled by? Why do you need to go and "annoy everyone else" with unnecessary advice?

Because unlike on twitter, there is not a tool you can use on meme to selectively mute the people who are annoying you so that you won't see their content in the future? And because saying something about being annoyed in response to what's annoying has at least a hope and a prayer of making it stop or slow down, whereas complaining on meme about people you follow on twitter talking about Crosby is not gonna make people you follow on twitter talk about Crosby any less?

So you don't know what the venting thread is for. Cool.

That's a cute idea but calling someone or something annoying on meme has never and will never slow them down. At least people who are complaining about people on a timeline, dashboard, or AO3 tag aware of that.

You're probably right. I'm just saying, if I could curate the content I see on meme as easily as on twitter or tumblr, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

DA

Maybe because it's kind of weird to complain about people you elected to follow posting happy things about a fave of theirs doing well? I get how it can get annoying fast, but it's not like a tumblr dash or twitter timeline is something you can't change if you don't like it anymore?

This is something I will never understand. Mute, unfollow, blacklist tags or whatever, it makes for such a much more enjoyable experience than subjecting yourself to content wich annoys you for whatever reason, especially if it's stuff like a hockey player doing well.
