Lots of people writing off the Sharks, but the games have all been pretty close, and I feel like San Jose has been gradually playing better each game. There's fight left in them yet imo.

The scores have been close, but not the games. That's why people are writing them off. The Penguins' speed and skill is very clearly overwhelming them and you can see how frustrated they are.

Today's shots have been much more even though, and it's never a bad effort if the opposing goalie gets a star of the game. I think they were caught off guard by Pittsburgh's speed, but they are getting a better handle on playing them. If they could keep the scores close even while being outplayed, now that they're improving, I don't think the road to victory for the Pens will be as easy as some on the meme think.

when it comes to sports I'm such a pessimist...I can't help it
but like you said, the games have been pretty close (score wise at least, shots maybe not so much besides tonight) so I really hope they can pull it off *prays to the hockey gods*

As a Pens fan, I am most certainly not counting this as a win until the buzzer sounds at the end of the last game with Pens on top.

I have been so nervous watching the scores of these games (work means I can't physically watch them).

If you assume the teams are perfectly evenly matched, the team up 3-1 has an 87.5% chance of winning the series. The Sharks outshot the Pens today (and out Corsi-ed them in Game 3, I believe), so that's a promising improvement for them. But I'm not sure that translates into sustainable dominance of possession (just like the Penguins' previous dominance wasn't sustainable across four games). And by the eye-test, it seems like a great deal of the Sharks' recent goals have depended on a serious error from both a Pens skater and Murray. There's nothing to suggest that that can't and won't continue, but I also understand why it wouldn't necessarily inspire a lot of confidence.

Also, Penguins haven't trailed at any point in the series and no team had come back from down 3-1 in the finals since the 1940s. AND Pens haven't lost consecutive games since January. Obviously anything can happen but a full Sharks comeback would be a pretty outstanding feat.

Yeah, I always forget to count that because of the Murray rebound stats constantly floating around lol that hit can be replaced by Murray being 5-0 with <2 GAA average after a loss, so the point still stands.
