#24 – Not Sure If Serious or Playing Dumba

This is the twenty-fourth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

There was no way they were going to justify Schultz (at least, not if I understand RFA rules correctly) - it'd mean giving him the same $3.9M a year he was making in Edmonton, and Pittsburgh doesn't have close to that much room. I have the impression they might still try to sign him in free agency for some lesser amount (again, if I understand the rules correctly).

Yeah, it would actually have been more, they would have needed to give him a 5% raise. They'll definitely try to sign him for a lesser amount though and give him some term to make up the value.

Yes, a qualifying offer for an RFA player making more than one million dollars has to be the same as or more than their current salary.
