If they didn’t, they could have elected to test free agency by now. Instead, Crosby signed a 12-year contract extension in 2012 and Malkin signed an eight-year deal in 2013.

In other words, it’s now a partnership they willingly have entered.

I've read this fic before. I'm pretty sure it's one of the fandom classics.

I agree, it is a little weird. I haven't caught all of the NA games so far, but he's looked good in the ones I've seen, so it's probably a matter of time.

...it would be hilarious if this became "everyone scores before McDavid" 2.0, though.

They actually seem to have stepped it up a bit in this game (so far). They seemed so discouraged in the second game against team NA.
