This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

There's already more McDavid/Strome than McDavid/Eichel on AO3. Also more Strome/Marner.

Maybe they just assume there's more Eichel fic because more people on meme want it vs Strome.

I don't mind it too much because it is a Pure and Noble trope that speaks to me on a deep, personal level when I'm in the mood for it and it can be a little hard to find. I find it interesting when pairings carve out niches for themselves in a bigger fandom like that.

Victor Hedman fic!!! He would probably be tough to write about since he's so quiet and the bolts are honestly pretty bad at doing PR that focuses on off the ice/personality stuff, but he's a 6'6" sweetheart and I want to read fic about him, dammit.

Hey, upside of the trade: I can finally tell Hall and Eberle apart, both facially and as characters. Now if I could just figure out who Nugent-Hopkins is beyond "some dude."

I don't mind it too much either, I just wish there was more fic where he moves on in the end/manages to be happy with somebody else. I can get into the angst when I'm in a certain mood, but I don't want him to just be sad and alone forever!! Maybe the trade will produce some of that.

RNH is the one with really good eyebrows.

Jordan is the one who has gotten earth-shatteringly more attractive with facial hair.

Taylor is the one with big teeth.

RNH stands out to me because he has a pretty angular/delicate looking face. He's probably the nicest to look at out of the three of them, imo. (I haven't seen beard upgraded Eberle tho.)

I've been wanting Hedman/Stamkos since that interview where Stamkos mentions that he calls Hedman at like, 6 AM, and the poor man picks up and indulges him. CLEARLY HE DOES THIS OUT OF LOVE, and they decided to stay TOGETHER in Tampa, and they've been together there since the beginning of the rebuild, and there is so much there!

And now I want some combination of Larkin/Abdelkader/Zetterberg liney porn.

(Also, flight suits are hot, but that's nothing new afaic)

I hope so just because everything being posted in the tag is so ridiculously bad lately. Adam Henrique fic will at least be new and (probably) original.

I thought the frat au story was pretty decent, even though it didn't use a whole lot of hockey. Some good definitely-not-porn fics would be nice, though.

Sigh... that makes me so sad. McDavid/Strome is just so boring to me and I can't explain why. The only one I've remotely enjoyed so far was the "McDavid is a prince and Stromer is his uni roommate" one.

Marner/Strome hits alllllllllllll of my buttons and so does McEichel, if only to a slightly lesser extent. Rivals to begrudging friends to lovers is my one true trope. With the bonus childhood connection angle to Stome/Marner I was sold immediately. Maybe a long shot, but I'm hoping if they're both up and the Yotes and Leafs miss the playoffs which is likely, they both go play at Worlds and we get more fic.

For McEichel I'm casually optimistic that the World Cup will bring more fic, but I'm also not getting my hopes too high.

I'm afraid McEichel has already burnt itself out, and I'm still so thirsty for new fic. I love that ship. :( I just wish McDavid was less boring in interviews/on camera so there was more to work with in terms of his personality. Eichel has become a big fave of mine and I hope he gets a new pairing soon if McEichel is dead.
