This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

I think you misread my comment? I know who it was. I was just saying there used to be one. It's not like this fandom doesn't have interest in having a beta list. There was one that people stopped using and then it was locked/closed. I think people would participate in something like that again if it were run by someone else.

Every time I see BC I think British Columbia and get very confused when it becomes obvious we aren't talking about the Canucks or someone from there like Lucic or the Benns.

I wish we could gossip about the Canucks. Sometimes I think they're the most boring team in the NHL. I'd be totally ok with some trashy Canucks gossip.

I was in Vancouver last week, and I thought I saw Jake Virtanen at the night market playing a carnival game but after googling him when I got home I realized it was probably not him but maybe it was I'm really not sure? #canucksgossip

Probably Cherchez la Femme, the fic with Jenny Scrivens in the NHL. It wasn't perfect, but I loved what it was trying to do and quite enjoyed the results. I would love to read more fic like it.

I just ordered a bottle of nail polish from the NHL shop because I wanted my toes to be the right color for the start of the season and haven't been able to find a close color match anywhere else, and ended up tossing in a shirt I don't need and will only wear as a sleep shirt mostly because I refused to pay $6 in shipping for a single bottle of nail polish. Even though that was all I actually wanted.

You got me, NHL. You got me.

God dammit.

The gifts were from a mini-exchange, but even besides them, there's been a decent amount of fics this week. Rest even managed to post something that wasn't painfully pretentious! It's been years! Please, God, let this be a sign of more to come (in general, not just Rest).

Really liked this. I'm surprised at how much. What little conflict was there was interesting, I liked that the problem, or one of them, wasn't the age difference but Sid's refusal to acknowledge the age difference and how that made Nate feel overwhelmed. He seemed very much his age in this, in a good way.

I wonder what pairing she's writing now though. It doesn't sound like she's going back to S/G.

I think they're talking about the part where Andy (jokingly, I thought) tells them not to eat their lobster salad on bread but they do anyway. It didn't bother me coming from a trainer in the offseason, when lots of players go low carb, but I guess it pinged that old school salad stuff.

though I am making ZERO promises and am currently working on anotherpairing no one will care about so

I read this as "another pairing besides Sid/Nate" but she has other stuff planned for them. Maybe I'm reading it wrong, though.

Fair, I guess, but I read that scene as being joking too. Especially when it's not really a thing in the rest of the fic and they both eat normally.

I'm eventually gonna read it because I do like her stuff, but tell me anyway, is Geno in it and does she write him like a tool the way she did when she decided not to like James Neal anymore, cos that did make me sad, how Geno had a bro in her early fic and then Neal devolved into like, Joey Tribiani and Geno no longer had someone in a friend sense to flesh out his character. I missed that dynamic.

I'm pressed, yes I admit it, let me live lol. I'm gonna go eat carbs now.
