Re: EKane civil suit

I see that the Buffalo News continues to be a cesspit that releases victim names.

Very sad to hear that she had to have multiple surgeries and blood transfusions. No wonder she ended up at the hospital.

+1 to your whole comment. I was shocked reading her name - completely didn't expect it. Do news sites feel like it's different in civil cases or is Buffalo News just especially scummy?

I had no idea she was so badly injured. I remember reading she'd gone to the hospital back when the news originally broke in December, but I naively thought she was going in for a tox screen or because someone had thought she was suffering alcohol poisoning or something. The possibility that she could be so badly injured she needed multiple surgeries didn't even cross my mind, but things always seem to be so much worse than I anticipate. :(

DA

Same here, had no idea she was this badly injured. Also the wording "personal injuries" seems ominous.

The Buffalo News is especially scummy.

All I remember hearing is that she had an unspecificed injury, no more than that. I pictured something much more mild than what it sounds like, though. (She also did have a tox screen at the time, because she had no memory of how she'd been injured, and they were looking for evidence of what might have caused the memory loss.)
