This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Pierre, buddy, I'm generally on your side, but literally no one wants to hear you compare a USA women's water polo star to Toews.

It wasn't even interesting. "In the sport I cover..." blah de blah a lot of the same qualities as Toews, leadership, whatever.

Like, here, fans of one niche sport. Let me make a reference to a totally unrelated niche sport, rather than just delivering the compliment to her game without the useless reference.

Later in the game he made a connection to Katie Ledecky re: dominance in the sport that at least made sense given the audience.

I felt a little bad for Kathryn Tappen getting thrown into the beach volleyball commentary, but at least she knew to stick to conversations or observations of the relevant athletes and their families.

I wonder what percentage of women's water polo fans have even heard of Toews. I bet it's not high.
