THE RULES

I mean, it's obviously good money, but it's low for ~pro-athletes or whatever. Even NFL stars still make the least out of the big 4 sports, which is questionable considering the viewership and how short their careers are on average.

... Not so much with stars? Top NHL salaries don't crack top fifty NFL salaries. None of that really helps, like, the last man on the totem pole if he breaks his back in practice, though.

Yeah, NFL players make way more than NHL players. I have no idea what ayrt is talking about.

With stars they're definitely wrong - there aren't NHL players making $20 million a year but I can name NFL players that are - but for everyday players they're right. Average NFL salary is $1.9 million versus the average NHL salary of $2.4 million. And the median NFL salary is even lower, less than a million.

There's also the fact that NFL salaries aren't guaranteed, which is just horrifying to me.

Yeah, basically the NFL can be great if you're a superstar, and pretty horrible if you're not. Each NFL roster has so many players that it balances out to like...a median of shittiness.
