#26 — Vanek! with a Jurco

This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Aw, that was really hockey sweet of Brendan Gallagher when they were asked who was the coaches favorite. That was a perfect answer and they would have gotten away with it too were it not for the interviewer hanging a lampshade on what we all knew.

I wish the people who write them would write them more like this. Galchenyuk doesn't get to be nearly as pissy and annoyed by everyone in fic as he does in real life and it's always so much fun to watch.

Really? I feel like "pissy and annoyed by everyone" is Galchenyuk's main characterization in fic.

I haven't come across that. The ones I've read he's always the Perfect Boyfriend, super sweet and supportive guy, endlessly accepting and understanding, patiently explaining social justice issues when others screw up. He's not nearly so cranky and reactionary.

There's a lot of Gallyx2 fic where he's an asshole, because the authors don't know how to properly depict "human equivalent of wet cat" without making him a jerk.

Ah, well if he was written as an outright asshole, I probably noped out before I got too far and filed it under bashing in my brain and forgot all about it.
