This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

She posted a snippet of Gabe + Stephen the other day and I am still irrationally annoyed that her characters I don't like nearly as much get a million words and the characters I did like got what can barely be defined as a "story."

This was cute, but yeah, very short. :( And it reminded me how I don't like when her stories get bogged down by side characters, lol.

If only her fixation meant she actually cared about fleshing her characters out instead of just going, "They're from here (which will only be accurate if they're from Toronto or Ottawa), their family life is mildly strained, and they have UST with fifteen other equally shallow dudes." I think the fact she can't develop characters without them taking over the narrative says a lot.

DA Yeah, I found this 'oh yeah btw they're Danish, which will only matter for the purposes of me throwing in two random lines of the language' irritating.

lol that's basically all she does. she gets overly attached to random side characters, people start sending her asks about them (because tumblr loves to care about minor characters) and then 2 days later she starts a new series about just them.

I really wish that fandom wrote fic. It's the quintessential canon with good bones but unsatisfying execution that should breed fic, but, well, I guess this is what happens with the fandom BNF is also the canon source.

And maybe if people stopped leading her down the road of distraction she could write an actual, satisfying ending for once. Doubtful, but not impossible.

I liked it but, my god is every single sister she's ever written speak in anything other than snappy quips puncuated by eyerolls? I think that's been mentioned before, but seriously they're all basically the same person, just at different ages.

I feel like that's the majority of sister characters in hockey fandom generally. It gets old pretty fast.

They are so snooze worthy, I can't even keep them apart. I'd trade their entire series for a Sven/Yvette/Gerard update.
