THE RULES

I believe he scored one, and it was the GWG to win the tournament or something like that. But he underperformed there too.

Yep, he was pretty solidly outplayed by Brassard, IIRC.

I mean, Brassard is quite good, he and Stepan were 1a/1b centers for the Rangers.

But I do think there's a chance that McDavid might not put up numbers that match the hype this year.

See, I think there's a good chance. Because Jeffler just said McDavid's the best player since Mario, so I've got something of an ax to grind.

...that's quite a claim there.

I'm a little torn. I realize my annoyance has more to do with the hype and the media than with McDavid himself, but I still don't want the media to be vindicated, even though I don't bear McDavid himself any ill will. So on one hand I want him to keep falling short of expectations, but on the other hand that's super mean.

LOL I saw that, plus his justification for why McDavid will be better than Crosby.

I know meme was talking about the 2006-2007 Crosby comparison, and like. The Pens roster was way better that year than the Oilers will be this year. Rookie Malkin was way better than Puljujarvi will be.

Because I'm a bitter American, I hope one of our young guys beats him in scoring.

AYRT I kind of wanted him not to have so he hadn't scored at international level.

I think they just hype him so much that he can't possibly meet the expectations of people.
