This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

Honestly mostly I've heard them call him Andy. Which is weird enough for me. He def doesn't have a prolific hockey nickname a la Ebs or Hallsy.

It is. And I'm also not sure I've ever heard him called that in real life.

(I've now called into this incredible hockey nickname hole on google and am learning things that are awesome but probably false. Like Anthony Duclair's nickname being the Duke of the Desert)

Well according to the mic'ed up Jack Eichel vid from the World Cup Auston Matthews' hockey nickname is just "Matt" so anything is possible I guess.

But that sounds pretty standard? Much like how Ryan Johansen is Joey -- a Joseph wouldn't be called Joey, and a Matthew wouldn't be called Matt, but if your last name can be turned into a common man's nickname, that's what you get.

Mackinnon has called him "AMatts" and "AJuice" so I think Eichel is just uncreative.

MacKinnon's enthusiastic social media outreach campaign to his American team NA'ers kills me and will probably always kill me. Including the AJuice thing and called Eichel a "tatted up beauty" or whatever it was.

It was more nonsensical than that. "inked up beauty weapon sauce" which is...those are some words, I suppose.

He really is just like a big enthusiastic puppy who keeps tripping over his overlarge paws to lick people's faces.

I'm pretty sure that's MacK for "cool tattoo friend, you are good at hockey!" We may never know tho

In the past he's been kind enough to translate nicknames. For example, Barrie is nicknamed "T-Brutes" because, per MacK, "he thinks he's a beauty but he's brutes"; maybe he'll deign to translate this mess someday.
