Re: What's up with Your Team: Camp, Camp, Camp

Where did you hear that? I thought he was just the scraps they got in return for a salary dump on Chasson, not expected to make the team or be seriously on anyone's radar. He's fringe even for AHL.

NA

He used to be more of a legit prospect. He got a staph infection in juniors that apparently nearly killed him and delayed his development.

The announcers in the EUR-SWE game were talking about it and said he did the same thing once before in Calgary and they had told them.

If that's true, then I have zero sympathy if this derails his career. Bad enough to be making dirty plays that injure, but to do it to your own teammates twice? GTFO.

I don't see how it matters who you do it to.

Well, it's shitty to steal someone's money, but it's shittier if you do it to a friend who invited you over for a beer.

I'm leery to believe that without a better source.

Is this it?

This makes me kind of befuddled to be honest. If a player is intentionally going after teammates, isn't the best approach to not invite him to the camp rather than warning everyone else to be careful?

Hmm, that sounds like Calgary warned their own players, not Ottawa.

Also, I agree with you. This is something you train a guy out of, not put the onus on others to avoid.

HockeyFights says he has one NHL preseason fight, from 2014/15, and the other guy got the instigator and misconduct.

Fights aren't the same thing as shitty hits.

Re: What's up with Your Team: Camp, Camp, Camp

From: (Anonymous)
No, but guys who make a habit of shitty hits tend to end up in fights.

Re: What's up with Your Team: Camp, Camp, Camp

Well, that might actually be true in Sieloff's case, since the same season he had that preseason NHL fight, he had five in the AHL. Don't know why you'd cherry pick the NHL fight stats of a guy who's only played one NHL game his whole career.

Also, even assuming that fights are indicative of the dirtiness of a player, the other guy being the instigator doesn't suggest anything in Sieloff's favor. He didn't start the fight, but the fight could very well have been started in response to something shitty he did.

sa

Should also be noted that's 5 fights in only 48 games played.
