What's happening there this time?

Not being super specific because you could probably find my reddit account if you looked hard enough, but people are being stupid about Galchenyuk and the domestic incident that happened last year.

Da. Ugh, yes. I saw a bunch of stuff about how he was responsible for the ~situation he put himself in, and similarly a bunch of stuff about how Kane was falsely accused and was innocent. Strangely, the people saying how Galchenyuk needed to be responsible didn't say the same about Kane, and vice versa.

I was arguing with one of the "Galchenyuk is responsible for putting himself in that situation" people last night when I made the original comment here, and I was just enraged, honestly. It's disgusting, especially since, yeah, those are the people who think Kane has nothing to apologize for. Disgusting.

How the Habs handled that situation is part of why I want AGally to get traded. He may have been partying/cheating/whatever, but in my opinion that doesn't justify his being assaulted and *definitely* doesn't justify his org essentially throwing him to the wolves by making him to apologize to the media while still bruised up from whatever went down.

We're highly unlikely to ever know the whole story so it's *possible* that it was self-defense on her part, but I don't remember even the crappiest media trying to make that argument. What I remember was mostly shitty "that's why they got John Scott" jokes and victim-blaming along the lines of "he put himself in that situation". So I'm completely unsurprised that the same reddit bros who are being assholes about him don't think PKane has anything to apologize for. (For the record, *I* think PKane's a sex offender.)

Also, at least one headline I saw about it afterwards was vague enough that the automatic thought would probably be he assaulted her, not the other way around, and I *think* maybe some of Montreal's shadier media people tried to double down and claim that he was cheating with Devante Smith-Pelly for bonus homophobia.
