And the fandom is just there for only two of the European superstars. You only get Malkin, Ovechkin and no one else.

Ovechkin does get shipped with a Swede a fair amount of the time, at least as far as Ovechkin gets shipped ...

Well Backstrom does have some presence in the fandom but in no way is he an NHL superstar. His being underrated is an /r/hockey meme for a reason. He was an All-Star just once despite being a career PPG player and having more than a few spectacular seasons.

He's a great player and probable future HoFer and well known in Sweden afaik. I guess I just don't know whom you consider to be the European superstars underrepresented in fic. Lundqvist? The Sedins? Jagr? Even Malkin gets as much fic as he does because he's shipped with Crosby.

There's also Carl Hagelin.

He's a lovely guy and a decent player but a bottom 6 guy simply cannot be considered a league superstar.

I assumed your point was that the only Europeans fandom cared about were two superstars, not that superstars were all that you cared about. And I'm not sure why you're making this distinction? Fandom cares about lots of North Americans, not just superstars, and there are North American superstars fandom doesn't give a crap about.

In any case, Hagelin has spent most of the last year and a half playing with Kessel, and if Kessel's on the line, it's probably not a "third" line in the traditional sense.

ayrt. I'm not actually the anon who talked with you upthread. I was only commenting on you (I assume) suggesting that Hagelin is a superstar, which does not compute.

He's not seen much on the fic side, but fandom loves Lundqvist.

There isn't a lot of Rangers fic but yeah, he's popular. That's a pretty big fanbase in general and him and Zuccarello are adored.

ngl, I kinda want Lundqvist twincest fic.

I want Landeskog twincest fic.
