Good god.

"It's gotten to the point where Alex Galchenyuk doesn't even do faceoff practice anymore. Doing net front drills with other wingers."

Squandering a gift. TRADE HIM TO MY TEAM, PLZ.

It's so stupid! Even if they have no plans of ever playing him at center position, he should still have some practice with faceoffs, just in case he has to take one because his center got thrown out.

His last night's adventures on 4th line wing (!) must mean that there's no future for him in Montreal. I hope he goes to a team I like, and that Jordie Benn is either taken in the expansion draft or traded as part of some offer sheet, so I may finally stop liking the Habs even a bit.

That is ridiculous. Do they hate him or something? Or do they think when he played well at center (1C even!!) that was a fluke?

I've wanted him gone from Montreal for a while now, and I really hope withh the expansion draft, his RFA status and everything he gets traded. (Preferably to my team because we need a good young C!)

Julien (& Therrien before) likes his centers to be defensively-minded and good at two-way play. Which Chucky isn't. He was playing well towards the end of last season because the Habs were out of the playoffs, so everything went. Not sure how to explain his success at the beginning of this season as compared to his continued struggles after returning from his injury.

Out of curiosity, what's your team that needs offensively minded young Cs that much?

Carolina! Well, they could use an old C, too, lol. But they do need some offense at center, so I think it'd be a good fit.

ayrt. I could dig Chucky on the Hurricanes roster. They play in my division, so I'll probably see him a decent amount of times. And you have quite a few guys I could consider pairing him up with, so it'd be great on all accounts.

But if you need someone to play C, you probably don't have a good C to offer, which is what the Habs would be after, should they decide to trade Galchenyuk.

I'd love a Galchenyuk-PK reunion in Nashville (Nash gets a real center, AGally could probably use some PK hugs, etc.) but I'm pretty sure that's not actually a workable scenario business-side.

What do you think his going price would be in a trade?

Re: Game day thread April 12, 2017

From: (Anonymous)
Probably nothing less than top 6 center, max 25-26 y.o.

I could imagine with some picks added it wouldn't be all that much. I think they could easily undervalue him.

especially with his recent role/performance/ice-time, it's hard to convince someone to give up something huge for someone you clearly don't think is worth anything. Considering what Yakupov went for (a 4th round prospect and third round pick in 2017) I think a smart GM could get him for pretty much nothing.

Yeah, it would be weird to me if they turned around now and went all "no, Galchenyuk is super valuable to us, can only trade for top players".
