I... how could you look at that 7 years after you originally wrote/posted it and think "yes this is appropriate to put out into the world again"?

da, assuming this person deleted their LJ due to the Russian TOS Unpleasantness and decided to start uploading their fics that hadn't been archived.

When I did that, I at least had the sense to backdate the fic with the day I had originally posted it to LJ and/or FFN. Not today.

Not backdating isn't really the issue.

Ah okay that makes some small semblance of sense. I didn't know about the LJ stuff so at least there's a general reasoning behind putting in on ao3.

But like to be clear I also think it's gross and wrong to fetishize someone for their race/an entire race because of their skin color. And in my opinion in 2017 the author probably should have reconsidered this and maybe just the fic in its LJ grave.

I didn't actually *read* the fic, I just gave an explanation of why someone would be putting up old fic that hadn't hit AO3 before. Oh, well.

Oh no I didn't mean to imply that you agreed with the content of the fic at all. My initial reaction of like "why would you do this" was two-fold and you definitely answered one part of that.

the other part of that falls 100% on the author, not you nonny

how bad are the TOS now? basically all my LJ fic has slash (even the couple het fics are in the context of a guy/guy/woman ot3 which might actually be *worse* by TOS) and a fair amount of it has low-level kink as well.

When an old archive got imported to AO3 with a fic I wrote in 1999 when I was 16 on it, I claimed it and promptly orphaned it. It's godawful, but I just have a weird thing about never deleting fic, no matter how bad.
