That's... just not true, but whatever, you're right, sparing an ounce of concern was a waste on time on my part.

Genuine question, are you having a misunderstanding resulting from the misleading NHL headline about him being day-to-day and the ambiguous wording of him being at "practice"? Nobody is saying that they optimistically believe Crosby miraculously recovered from his concussion in 24-48 hours, being on ice at the practice rink =/= actual practice, asymptomatic =/= fully recovered and expected to remain so. 24-48 hours isn't a normal expected full recovery time from a concussion, it's a normal timeframe to go from resting to gradually resuming exercise as part of continuing treatment/recovery. A sport-specific activity (so skating, for hockey) is an early step of exercise resumption, and it does mean he's made some progress, but it is in no way an indication that he'll be expected back soon. Sullivan reportedly being coy about him playing game 5, if you actually look at his quotes, were basically just a refusal to comment on Crosby's progress in any way except to say it's a day-to-day process, which the protocol is. The reporting here was somewhat irresponsible in wanting to fill in the gaps of Sullivan's non-statement.
