THE RULES

I'm considering it, too, due to long fic that might be helped along by a deadline. But at the same time the thought of a deadline for a fic this long is panic inducing, haha.

Has anyone here participated before? Has it helped?

(Egad, or maybe I should be banned after that word salad up there, lol.)

I haven't, but from friends who've done similar events in other fandoms (and rubbernecking events over the years), it's as hit or miss as you'd expect. The only reason I'm considering it is because I know I can write at least 10k in four months. I also tend to dawdle over a couple projects at once and this would give me a reason to focus. Not having to worry about defaulting on someone's request eases the tension a little, too.
