This is genuinely not trying to be a wanky comment, but I guess I'm not sure the definition of safe person that would be at all useful? Presumably this list would be targeted toward Hawks fans. For people who want to follow another team or leave the fandom, they probably wouldn't need something like this? As people following other teams wouldn't talk about Kane anyway? And if you're going to be following the Hawks, it seems inevitable that you're going to have to talk about Kane. If he's playing, that is.

Yeah, I don't think safe spaces on the Internet are possible or even desirable. Tools to help control your own experience, like tags, are great sure, but no one is guaranteed a safe experience and you can't expect one or think you can create one. And IA that never talking about Kane will be impossible if he's playing, and possibly even if he's not, because presumably there will be more news when it's announced whether charges are being pressed or not.

People could say that they're not going to write fic for him, but that's pretty much all it would mean, and as the person who brought it up in the first place, that's not a perfect system either. People could feel pressured to sign, for example, or sign and change their minds when hockey fandom starts to put this all out of mind.

The only kind of list I would find helpful would be something like "please put yourself on this list if you do not support Patrick Kane and you promise to tag any posts that mention him (negative or neutral) with "Patrick Kane" and "rape tw"". I follow a lot of multi-team and Hawks blogs, so that would be really helpful for me.
