So you don't know what the venting thread is for. Cool.

Maybe because it's kind of weird to complain about people you elected to follow posting happy things about a fave of theirs doing well? I get how it can get annoying fast, but it's not like a tumblr dash or twitter timeline is something you can't change if you don't like it anymore?

Re: Fandom Venting

From: (Anonymous)
That's a cute idea but calling someone or something annoying on meme has never and will never slow them down. At least people who are complaining about people on a timeline, dashboard, or AO3 tag aware of that.

You're probably right. I'm just saying, if I could curate the content I see on meme as easily as on twitter or tumblr, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Interestingly (though surely not coincidentally), that top five also corresponds to top five Fenwick in last 20 regular season GP (although not in the same order): https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Cj_B6ItUgAArAM7.jpg.

Makes me wonder about what inputs the different models use. @shane1342o's model, which has been the most successful so far, clearly with some different metrics -- he said he had the winner of Pens/Caps as the cup favorite, whereas @DTMAboutheart had Caps ranked 11th, behind all the teams faced by the Sharks.

Would there actually be wider interest on meme in the kind of post another anon mentioned, comparing the different stats models in detail? I don't want to do it and clog up meme if no one cares, but I'm pretty curious now.

No, please, go ahead. I failed out of following the stats community on twitter in a fit of pique sometime during the season, so I haven't seen any of their stuff.

Sorry @DTMAbourheart with Caps 7th, not 11th

As someone who made a similar vent recently, yeah, I had no clue how many huge Crosby fans I followed until the last couple weeks. In addition, I met a lot of these people through K/T fandom, and didn't realize they were really Pens fans until we were already friends. I'm guessing the same thing is happening to other people; their fandom circle was more multi-team than they realized, post Hawks fandom.

I would love to see such a post, nonnie.

Holy crap.

Re: Fandom Goggles

From: (Anonymous)
I'm not really sure there is another way to take that.

It's really not that hard to keyword mute him. It's not like he's called Ryan.

I judge non super star players that takes a discount unless they got some form of job security NMC/NTC.

Imagine being that poor kid named either Sidney or Crosby who wants to play hockey.

Or Sydney Kidd! At least she is a fan...

Cool, it seems like there's at least three of us, so yay! I might not have time to do all of it, but I'll try to post after the playoffs are over, in a separate thread so people can ignore it if they don't care.

Back when I a lot of people I followed on tumblr were obsessed with Doctor Who, I ended up blacklisting "Matt" and "Doctor."

Now I want the fic where someone plays the yenta and immediately fucking regrets it once their matchmaking is successful. For any pairing, but it would especially work for Strome/Marner.

I feel like this could be a fun story where you never actually see Dylan or Mitch. The entire structure of the story is just Matt drunkenly and angrily ranting about it to his completely disinterested road roommate and the reader has to gather what actually happened from that.

Are there particular players you are thinking of? Just curious who has done this.

I literally thought it was the beginning of a gay porno while the gifs where loading, until I recognized the new Panthers jerseys.

You have another reader in me, if you ever do!

McDavid's huge smile! Aw, it makes me ship it a little.

I could also be swayed to see that smile as a shit-eating grin, like, "Oh Aaron, we both know I'm not too small for you."

Well, those gifs are... something else. Wow.
