Yeah, Geno said in a Russian interview yesterday that the baby is due any day now. I think they're getting legally married now before the baby is born and then having the actual ceremony later on.

Yeah. :( I wish we could see what a healthy Pens team could do against them, but lol that's what I wish re: the Pens in basically every scenario.

I still don't understand how that situation turned into the shitshow it did in the first place. /not a Lightning fan, but the way this escalated was weird to see. Glad it seems to be in the past now, he looked dangerous and like a stud all playoffs long!

No no, the Sharks know how to mess with us better than that. Pens in 7, with somebody unexpected just crushing us the last couple games and taking the CS.

Ultimate scenario: Sharks win first three by increasingly wide margins, then lose the following four in either crushingly close games or even more crushing blowouts. Slow pan over Jumbo's broken, utterly defeated face at the close of game 7.

Oooh, yeah I didn't think of that, I thought he was applying for it and they'd have the big ceremony in Pittsburgh after the playoffs but I guess it's for having a courthouse wedding first.

It was nice to see Cooper have so much confidence in him these playoffs. Part of it was definitely needing more offense with Stamkos out but i think even if Stamkos doesn't leave he'll still be getting top line minutes next year. He showed he deserved them.

I'd worry about what happens if he screws up or goes on a cold streak. Does he earn his minutes back? Does Cooper keep him on a shorter leash than usual?

I am reminded a little of Martin St. Louis. The Olympics snub was the straw that broke the camel's back, but the foundations of his bad feelings over being underappreciated was laid years ago.

Yeah I get that. My speculation was that it was more about effort/attitude than anything. He wasn't improving and wasn't trying to, so he didn't get the minutes he felt he deserved and got sent down. He was clearly playing his heart out these playoffs but if he keeps that up even a little bit I think he'll be fine. I get the sense that both him and the team are eager to just move on.

Oh, but we already did that one! I think it goes Sharks, Pens, Pens, Pens, Sharks, Sharks....Pens with an OT goal in a 1-1 game. Crosby, natch.

Hmm, you're right, the Sharks are pretty good at coming up with new and interesting ways to disappoint their fans. That was just so devastating that I'm having trouble coming up with anything worse. Almost coming back and then losing in OT would be pretty bad, though. :(

What I'd like to see - Sharks, Pavelski (yay, USA!), 6.

What will probably happen - Pens, Crosby , 7.

The Sharks have looked great, but the Pens really have a way making teams look bad and I'm a little iffy on Jones. But since I hate the Pens, I'm hoping that you guys choosing the Sharks are right. Kessel has been better than Crosby so far, but Crosby has looked great in the last few games and I could see him getting the edge in the finals.

What makes it worse, I think, he's not even going to be able to skate a celebratory lap if they win. Not being able to go on the ice :(

My awful horrible better-never-happen nightmare scenario involves injuries that I'm just not going to describe here, so as long as they don't all die, I guess I won't be disappointed? But for real, I'm caught halfway between the wild hope I haven't been able to suppress and the cruel pessimism that has kept me from dumping the Sharks at the worst times. I'm proud of how far they've come, and I'm going to be proud of it no matter what happens after this, but part of me is still waiting for all my remaining hope to be crushed in four straight 3OT losses or something.

I was the nonnie on the last post who vented about this BUT I STILL FEEL THIS WAY. They are so annoying.
