#24 – Not Sure If Serious or Playing Dumba

This is the twenty-fourth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

Stars players that aren't Seguin or JaBenn. I don't even dislike those guys exactly but there's just so many other players that need some loving.

Antoine Roussel is a total sweetie off the ice, and Jason Demers is funny and both are flirty and cute. Mattias Janmark and Radek Faksa are adorable and begging to be debauched. Johnny Oduya is unbelievably handsome and ripped and should totally mentor our young D (with his D...lol). Stephen Johns and Val Nichushkin are big and young and need to get it. Kris Russell is tiny and adorable and needs to top every guy over 6 feet. And John Klingberg is simply everything. <3

I know Jason Spezza is too much of a dad to most people but when I see gifs on tumbler I keep getting caught up in how very blue his pretty eyes are, and also his ridiculous giggle is stupidly endearing.

And Ales Hemsky too! He needs love and debauchery just for surviving years in Edmonton. :D

I still miss Kevin and all his potential. I hope they are treating him right in Calgary.

I'm still sad I ship Klinger/Nemeth but not enough to compel myself to write fic.

I ship Klinger/Nemeth so hard but the one time I actually wrote the fic I...ended up writing something different by the time I was done. Whoops. I've been trying to write something else but it's slow going, unfortunately. As for Janmark and Nichushkin...that should be enough in theory. In practice, it apparently is not :(

(Honestly I should've just said "I need Stephen Johns to give me a reason to ship him with someone")

I'm still a bit sad over what-could-have-been of Jokipakka/Lindell. They looked promising when he got called up!

(I feel the same about him, to be honest. There's only so much you can do with a common "proving I deserve to be in the big show" that half the defensemen share.)

DA Trading Kevin ruined so many potential pairings (the goalies, Klingberg, Demers all being viable candidates). whereas I would read Russell/Sceviour and maybe Demers but I don't know who else he might be shipped with. I know nothing about him apart from his dad trains bulls?

Maybe this is as good a place as any to talk about this: inspired by the recent trend for single team exchanges, I wonder if there could be interest in a rare Stars exchange or prompt fest?

I'm thinking a prompt fest might work well for being low key and potentially anonymous? I would be willing to set it up but I don't have any namespace presence beyond AO3 so I'm not sure about getting the word out. Also, since a lot of the chatter on deke and ffa is about crossteam rarepairs like Roussel/Bellemare, I'm assuming that we might want to open it to those?

A promptfest would be fine by me! Very lowkey and less stress. I think it might be easier to name what couldn't be done, aside from An executive decision might have to be made whether Seguin/(A Bruin) counts as a rare pair or Demers/(A Shark) counts.

Uh. Set up a dream width for it? I don't know if anyone here wants to promote it.

Prompt fest sounds great! I think an exchange would be too limited since that requires matching people's specific wants. I think all pairings should be fine so long as they're not Tyler/Jamie--so crossteam pairs including one of them are okay.

The problem I see with allowing crossteam prompts is that it opens the door for stuff like Sharp/Kane, which I definitely would rather not see in a Stars fest.

Yeah, I'm not sure if Seguin/(x) where x is a player on Team Canada or Kane or a Bruin is in the spirit of a Stars fest either.
