Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Yeah, the more I think about it the more it would make sense for it to be PR. So many player twitters nowadays are just sponsored tweets and occasionally a random picture to show that they're not just a robot, because I think they were all collectively told that the best twitter strategy is saying it best by saying nothing at all. His is kind of too perfectly crafted in terms of personality/sponsored/interacting with teammate balance for it to be organic. But idk, maybe he really does make the tweets but it seems like somebody who's "new to social media" doesn't randomly get that lucky right off the bat in terms of knowing what to tweet and how to get broad appeal.
Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)I'm sure there is a PR team (or his mom) telling him to post this and post that because the fans would love it, but when I think of manufactured/fake, I think more of the types of twitters where I'm pretty sure the players never even touch the twitter and their publicist posts all their canned responses and charity promotions.
Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Yeah, I can see why people would think it's fake, but I also think having a PR person go to all that trouble just doesn't seem worth it? The Hawks are still popular, and the people who have a problem with the team/Kane aren't exactly going to be swayed by some funny tweets. Maybe he has a PA who tweets just to boost his own image, but it still doesn't seem like much benefit would come from it, and to say the team is involved is a real stretch. I think he just got eliminated early from the playoffs and is bored.
Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Fandom Goggles on, maybe that's because he's not new to social media: just new to social media under his real name.

From: (Anonymous)Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Yeah, the whole twitter seems like the ~idea of him he projects in interviews, which is poles apart from the gross shit you hear rumors about.
Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Idk, to me that's more pointing to the idea that he's running it while trying to project his ~best self. Not to say that he couldn't be getting input from PR, just that if it aligns with the way he tries to portray himself in interviews, then the simplest explanation to me is that it's just him tweeting with Interview Face on the whole time.

From: (Anonymous)His 'Twitter' doesn't exactly strike me as someone who's private like that.
Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon
From: (Anonymous)Look, he's perfectly capable of making his own dumb jokes about his lack of yoga skills. It doesn't have to be a PR person.
More to the point of what you said, I don't think the privacy thing holds water because regardless of whether who is doing the tweeting, that stuff is out there now. A super motivated person could go track down the gym he's training at, or whatever. Unless his PR person has gone rogue and is getting their hands on pictures of him to tweet, he must be ok with it.
To me, a person worried about privacy would be most concerned with control. With his own account, he can choose what to or not to tweet. If he gives out his phone number, he has to trust people not to give it to some stalker. If he lets people film his house, he has to trust embarrassing household item or car license doesn't end up in the final cut. That kind of stuff.
