The one where Paul Martin picks Beau up at a kink club has that? Huh, I did not remember that at all.

Neither do I. I wonder if anon has mixed up fics.

No, it's in there.

I don't know if it was spite-driven, but yeah, there's this small subplot of Sid giving Beau sad advice that's clearly rooted in a bad breakup with Geno.

God forbid people don't write S/G as perfect.

Re: Things You Wouldn't Admit Unanon

Lol she literally wrote that because some anon gave her shit for writing too much S/G and being too much of an OTPer. So she pulled Martin/Bennett out of her ass and broke S/G up to prove how ~edgy she could be. I'm not going to applaud her for that.

Wow, what a deeply ungenerous description of whatever went on. And what excellent telepathic skills on your part!

/did not like that aspect of the fic, do no like this comment either

I don't have any commentary on the motivations of the writer, but it was very out of left field in the story.

This is true.

My objection was less that they weren't "perfect" and more that it was a jarring, misplaced side plot that didn't add anything to the narrative and was never really resolved in a satisfying way. I actually ship the endgame pairing that Sid ended up in! Just not when it's done this annoyingly.

I loved she had them having a bad breakup. Finally something new in their characterization.

Same. I also appreciated that it was a nice, more ~realistic departure from fics where everyone neatly pairs off into happy couples, which I sometimes find annoying.

Yes! I do too.

I think she later wrote a sequel where Sid was with Ovechkin and Geno had realised he was actually passionately in love with Sid but it was Too Late and he had to pine alone forever while Ovechkin and Sid lived in a cottage with adopted kids who called him Uncle Geno?

And then someone else wrote a(n authorized) sequel to that that ended with Sid/Geno/Ovi. I didn't really like it, though.

da

Do you have a link to that, perchance?

I read it in a DW post that has since been flocked, and AO3 is down at the moment, although I'm not sure it ever got posted there. When AO3 comes back I will check.

The authorized sequel is here, though you can't read the original timestamp from uraneia because they've apparently deactivated their Tumblr: http://archiveofourown.org/works/4740119

I never got more than about half a chapter into it, but I hope you enjoy!
