Their dads were friends at hockey tournaments? Like, they'd drop off wee!Dylan and wee!Aaron at the tournament, got to talking to the other parents, met each other and started hanging out and getting beers together at subsequent tournaments, but never introduced their kids? Sounds kind of like we should be shipping their dads. Or writing Dylan/Aaron arranged marriage fic.

The arranged marriage fic would be everything. Part of me want the classic : "they hooked up and didn't know of the contract that is discovered at the end of the fic" but I'm more intrigued by the scenario where they know?

In a world where hockey players tend to have arranged marriage contracts planned for after their career. Like people believe that because they're focused on playing, they won't make good choice regarding their life partner. The contract are a way to give them something to look for when they retire and not end up lost and depressed, etc..

So Larkin and Ekblad know they'll be married some day, but they never really thought to much of it, and then they meet at the game, and sparks fly, and wham bam, they get caught in the thrill of fucking that person who's kind of destined to them? And even if they had sex with others before, there is a weird dirty feeling with this unplanned, pre-marital fuck.
