DA

I reread that McSpot series so often. It was, like, the perfect trope subversion of Sad Shea Weber for me. How to describe its appeal, how it made me like the Sad Shea Weber-ness of it? The use of whacky supernatural elements to explain the all the repression and insecurity, mmmmm. Good angst.

I confess to still hoping for another sequel too. Porn, no porn, it doesn't matter to me though.

I just wanted Parise and Weber to run off together.

nonnie who proposed porn:

I never really shipped them as a *couple* until Suter introduced Zara Parise, ECHL hotshot/go-go bar bouncer/extrovert to a really shy bb!Weber in Flightless Birds and left him all tongue-tied and blushy. The last part posted has ot3 Parise/Suter/Weber post-playoffs cuddling at the very end, which made me go awww.....

(The series is really really wankable about, but it works for me. GIGANTIC sexual assault/other creepy shit warnings.)

I know it's not popular on meme, but I love that series a lot. I agree about the warnings, but I think it's compelling as hell and I really like the author's characterization choices.
