Dear self, learn that liking a fic doesn't mean you have to like the person who wrote it and while you're at it learn that disliking that person doesn't have to take away your enjoyment of their stories.

Love, anon.

I hear you nonny.

I find that avoiding the author on all social platforms helps. Not always because some wankers (hello zarabithia) are so noxious that it's hard to separate.

da

Yeah, I definitely avoid most authors on tumblr/twitter. Usually it's enough to glance at their tumblr and know when to back away again, lol. I think there's only 1 I follow and she barely posts anything.

This is something that really annoys me about the author of YCMAL (idk what she calls herself now fandom-wise) btw because if you don't follow her tumblr you miss like 50% of her content and don't understand what's going on and it just turned me off her stories in general. :/

Yep, I learned that the hard way. God bless the mute button.

Yeah, I mean, I think I've read all of imp's fic, but found her insufferable as a person (less so now, but I also don't have any real interaction with her now). I also find that what annoys me about people is often what annoys me in their fic - if they're overly long-winded and ponderous, so is their fic. If they're a bit engrossed with their own talent, their fic shows that, etc.
