I wouldn't be surprised if the camera crew had a professional stager with them who added those sorts of touches.

That seems like a bit much.

I've always found it suspicious that I have yet to see a hockey player in one of these things who had either a completely empty or piled with junk dining room table.

I mean, I've definitely seen videos of guys with messy places, if that's what you mean.

I mean, they have warning that cameras are coming. They are capable of cleaning up (or calling someone to clean up) beforehand. In this video, Johnny even said that he knew his mom was going to see it and cleaned accordingly.

That's why I'd expect to see a completely empty table. But they always have some kind of artful thing going on.

My tables are piled in junk surrounding the art stuff. Clean up the junk and suddenly, artsy tables. But then, I'm also the type of person who has zero bare walls. I even have art in the bathroom.

I've always assumed that for the younger, single guys especially, those are furnished apartments and all the tasteful interior decorating came with the the place.

Maybe, but I would definitely read fic about the adventures of this hypothetical stager and the items they introduced or removed to players' dwellings before cameras rolled.
