The thing that bothers me is I've seen in a couple of places that they told Kopitar when he signed his new deal that he was going to be made captain, and my feelings onDustin Brown aside, I'm bothered by the idea that you'd sell out your current captain that way.

Is that something you've seen on Twitter? I haven't seen that, but that's one place I don't go.

Maybe I'm missing something, but both of those just say that the Kings were probably going to be making Kopitar captain. There's nothing in them about promising it to Kopitar or saying it to Kopitar when he signed his contract or even during negotiations.
