5. No looks bashing or body shaming. This applies to players and people associated with those players and their clubs, as well as fellow fans.
6. No embedded music.
7. No embedded images.
8. No spamming the meme, whether through repeated comments or other means.
9. No discussing trolling, individual trolls, or their efforts.
Meme rules do not require spoiler cuts. However, this layout does allow for them. Any of the following tags will create a spoiler cut when closed: <div cut>, <span cut>, <font color="white">

2) That means that the LA Kings are the Designated Violent Homophobes because "someone had to be" and they violently gay-bash Tavares ON THE ICE in the middle of the ASG, requiring him to go to the hospital.
3) John Tavares is so OOC that the creepy tentacle-rapist Tavares fic makes more sense than this. Calling his mom to cry about how nothing is more important than Sam but Sam thinks hockey is more important? Proposing to Sam with something to the effect of "Marry me so we can be the biggest PR disaster the NHL has ever had!"? Etc.
4) Every time wives/girlfriends are mentioned it seems like it's basically to mock or trash them, which might not stand out quite as much if the fic was otherwise good but just makes this particular one worse.

(I'm totally down for making Doughty an asshole because I hate the RL version, Carter I was sort of "whatever", Kesler I was "dude did YCP and has not shown up on meme as notably homophobic but would probably still chirp an out dude about his boyfriend/husband", but I was having logic problems with why the fuck are they even getting to "fighting" levels at the ASG?)
If that whole bit *didn't* go down at the All-Star Game, oops, I refuse to reread for clarification because I think I lost a few brain cells the first time.

From: (Anonymous)As I understand All-Star Games, they're basically excuses to get drunk with your buddies/friendly rivals from other teams and sort of play some hockey and have skills contests while hungover and possibly hiding a flask on the bench. They're also great examples of "the NHL hates fun, look at John Scott last year/Rory Fitzgerald a while back/the year BizNasty was leading the Coyotes in fan voting for a while/the way they keep changing *what* the skills stuff is". They *aren't* where I'd expect an on-ice gay bashing to happen and someone writing that just hurts my brain.
Fuck PKane being sympathetic and helpful EVER. I probably would have noped out without reading if the author had tagged him by name and even if I hated the RL Preds I'd be cheering them on right now. (And yeah, resigning Ribeiro *should* have gotten Poile and Nashville a whole lot more shit than it did, I'm not trying to pretend my team's hands are clean in that department. I'm still super happy that at least the first two games Pekka Rinne has more points than the entire Hawks roster, though. *knocks on wood I don't jinx them*)
(One *useful* thing that came out of an ASG: "Hey, fat-shamers, they were probably both still impaired but Kessel beat Seguin head-to-head speed-wise would you shut the fuck up about his conditioning already?")

From: (Anonymous)It's not like I expect it to *stop* them, it's just a (questionable but easy to remember and quote) data point in Kessel's defense. Size discrimination is basically an -ism, and -ists generally won't shut up no matter how much objective evidence to the contrary there is.
That shit is why despite not being a Pens fan, I was all YAY at Steve Dangle's meme and Phil taking the Cup back to Toronto--it felt like a low-key "fuck you Toronto media/all the haters" and was by far my favorite part of the Pens winning.
(You could probably make a case that even though PKessel's a presumably cis white dude so sexism and/or racism aren't playing into this the way they all too often do, ableism *is* because it would not surprise me if Kessel being a young testicular cancer survivor permanently affected his body's fat storage mechanisms/metabolism.)
