#29 – Lay, Lie, or Laine?

This is the twenty-ninth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

can we ban "soft hockey boys" and all variations FOREVER? i keep seeing that (even from people i otherwise like) and it makes me incredibly annoyed.

bonus points for banning *anything* where marner's helping "deconstruct masculinity" or whatever the fuck people are claiming on tumblr today. he kisses one of his teammates/bros in public, with tongue, doesn't "no homo" it in the slightest and maybe even says "good kisser etc." like fournier and drouin, i'll give him some credit on that. till then, no love from me and please shut up.

I can think of teammates kissing helmets etc just from this playoffs who aren't marner and no one says they're deconstructing shit.

It's getting so irritating.

Agreed re "soft" and now thinking I should go back and retroactively edit a fic for use of "soft" even though in this case it was used to imply a character was getting fat and out of condition without saying it outright.

I think soft has its uses because its such a common chirp. Although, I think players use it to mean easy to play against / can't take a hit.

The use was by a non-player character about a player, but...yeah, the latter is also probably accurate at this point in the story.

There is someone on my dash right now calling the Swede NT sitting around a hotel room playing cards "so soft" right now. Does that word have any meaning at this point?

Your dash might be more fun for you if you give it one like, "If I took off their skin right now and wore it like a coat, I would be warm and comfortable."
