#24 – Not Sure If Serious or Playing Dumba

I want the Penguins to win the Cup and blow up as a juggernaut even more. If a new Pens juggernaut pairing rises up, so be it. I will be happy. I just want all the rookie fic with Rusty, Junior and Shearsy, all the HBK love, all the Dumo love, and even more S/G if they want!

Not gonna happen. This fandom just isn't a good environment for juggernauts anymore. And everybody already knows about the penguins and who's on the team whether or not they're a fan. Winning a cup isn't going to give them more exposure in fandom than they already have.

Yeah, they've already solidly dominated fandom in the past, to the point a lot of people are burned out on them. Their stars are getting old (not real world old but a bunch of peaked Old Marrieds with Kids don't usually inspire new, rabid fanfic fans), the new kids aren't anything special. Their Golden Fandom Era has past.

The penguins are already the most popular team ~in fandom though and if it hasn't translated in fic already I'm not sure it would in the future.

Maybe a new juggernaut pairing could happen if a really talented author started churning out fic for them, but ia with the other nonny that I can't really see it happen.

I vote Hagelin and Kessel as the new juggernaut. Or Connor Sheary with whatever older dude they write coming on his face.
