What's wrong with the SPAG in the summary?

They need to "breach" the subject. Maybe I'm being over generous with the term SPAG and it's not so much a technicality as the author just not knowing how to words good?

Well, you're right, that should be "broach," but given that it's Clune, I'd be willing to buy it as characterization. (tbh I'd be willing to buy it as characterization for most hockey players.)

Oh, come the fuck on. If you think that was a deliberate characterization choice on the part of the author, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn you might like to buy.

LOL if this author, who wrote 36K of fic where everything other than the gay orgies was an aggressively handwavy and increasingly thin pretext for getting enough penises into sufficient proximity for said gay orgies, and who at one point in the fic actually pretty explicitly said "fuck these other plot points, I'm tired of them, bukakke tiems nao", spent even half a second thinking about the accuracy and/or characterization value of grammar mistakes in hockey player dialogue, I'll eat my motherfucking hat.

The world 'breach' could be used that way, as in opening up. It's not even wrong, just not the most common phrasing.

DA

If nobody uses the word that way, and there is a word spelled one letter differently that is very commonly used in sentences like that, the simplest explanation is that the author mistyped. Not that they intentionally used an uncommon phrasing.

It may be technically possible the author was indicating something was wedged against a throat, for example, but I'm probably not going to give them the benefit of the doubt if I come up against someone "chocking" in a fic.
