Cory Schneider's off season house is in the Globe magazine this morning. His baby is adorbs, and I actually like how the house is decorated. You go, Cory Schneider.

Knowing where a players political views won't make me hate them, it just makes me indifference to them. Not following them is what I'm going to do. My opinion isn't going to matter and I don't expect it to with regards to the players/fans.

What?

I'm also sure there are people who follow Trump because they think he's funny. Which is still dangerous in its own way, but.

DA who has been there too and I cringe at how much I got wrong the first time but people keep poking me to write more of them now, so?

AYRT

Yeah, my first fic for one pairing has parts that make me cringe now, but it managed to stir some interest. And it was basically a PWP so I feel slightly less bad than if it were a plotty longfic. /excuses I tell myself

op

If that would happen to me with people asking for more, that'd be the dream lol. But the pairing is kind of out there, as is the fic premise, and let's be real here, my writing isn't very good. :(

I'm really only doing this for fun, but the need to please people is still strong...

NA
I would be pleased by a new pairing and out there fic.

Sorry nonnys, I'm not around much so I missed previous requests. Leave me your emails and I'll send you a copy.

I'm happy to know that, nonnie!

I seem to have accidentally stumbled into "I guess this is longfic now" territory, so it might take a while, lol.

Could I get some vague key words when it does come up? I definitely have created character and pairing tags on Ao3, and have generally gotten a good response.

Re: Hockey Media - KHL expansion

From: (Anonymous)
And how much higher is the standard of hockey in the KHL than the UK? I mean, it'll be interesting to see how the Devils do against Medvescak Zagreb in August, but I can't imagine there'll be a lot of appetite for showing up to watch your guys get their asses handed to them week in week out when there's no long term / built in loyalty already.

It'll be a logistical nightmare scaling up from a maximum of a few hours coach ride to regularly flying out to Eastern Conference games - I can't even think how away game travel / transport costs would work (Vladivostok-Khabarovsk-Beijing must play a lot of back-to-backs, I guess).

Vague key words how, about the fic or pairing?

I just checked and at least both character tags exist, one of them has exactly 2 fics (being a background character in both of course). The only way is up from here!

Re: Hockey Media - KHL expansion

From: (Anonymous)
I always feel bad for saying the level of play in the EIHL isn't very high, but I'm really wondering the same thing. Even clubs with a loyal fanbase usually struggle keeping their audience if they lose a lot here. It's not really like in the NHL with Edmonton or Toronto etc.

And even if they say that the standard will be higher in the KHL, how do they mean to pay for those contracts of better players? And then the transport logistics like you mentioned... With London being this far west even "only" flying to Helsinki or Moscow would already be a lot more hassle than most European clubs are used to. And I guess they don't really count on establishing a continent wide tv audience? Even in the NHL people are grumbling about timezones and that's only three! The KHL has 12 now!

I don't know. I don't want to be too pessimistic but I keep thinking "well, how's it gonna work then" about a million aspects.

Re: Hockey Media - KHL expansion

From: (Anonymous)
Optimistically, other teams in the KHL seem to manage transport and so on with average gates that're similar to some of the larger EIHL clubs, so supporting a team on a typical UK fanbase ought to be possible, especially if you bring in management used to thinking on that kind of scale.

The problem then is building that supporter base from a standing start, which... I don't know? Looking at other teams that've been brought into the KHL they seem to be clubs that already existed, which might be an easier way to go - if one of the EIHL clubs could be be persuaded to switch to a much bigger pond? Still wouldn't solve the skill disparity between the leagues though, especially if the KHL keep to the same rules on the numbers of a team's native/non-native players.

Re: Exchanges, etc - hockey rarepair exchange

From: (Anonymous)
I was hoping this would get over 50 sign-ups (mostly because it's a big round number lol) and it did! 55 now!

Does anyone remember how many initial sign-ups there were last year?
