#26 — Vanek! with a Jurco

This is the twenty-sixth post of Deke Dangle RPF Anon, a community for all your ice hockey anon meme needs.

THE RULES

1. Mods retain the right to delete, freeze, and/or screen threads and comments.
2. Meme rules do not require warnings.
3. Respect flock. Do not repost or share information from private tumblrs, locked twitter accounts, flocked LJ posts, etc.
4. No linking fans to their real life identities.
5. No looks bashing or body shaming. This applies to players and people associated with those players and their clubs, as well as fellow fans.
6. No embedded music.
7. No embedded images.
8. No spamming the meme, whether through repeated comments or other means. 
9. No discussing trolling, individual trolls, or their efforts.

I really wanted to just write some gift fics, to get myself back into the swing of things and give hockey rpf a first try, so I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't seem like we'll be able to see the actual requests (the specifics, I mean).

I hope the mods update the offers/requests soon. I want to see what the numbers are after the recent batch of sign-ups and see if I'm matchable with anyone.

The mods updated the spreadsheet yay! I'm unmatchable for both writing and receiving (d'oh), but maybe this will pique someone's interest.

I want to sign up, but I'm not sure if I should since I tend to be the type of writer who can either finish an entire 5k fic in like two days, or have 500 words sit and stare at them in a word document for six months before admitting defeat :(

Ooh, someone requested a rarepair I like to write, and nobody else is offering to write it. And a few others I like have "request/offer" at 1 and 1, so maybe I can help others be matchable if I sign up. That's a fun thought.

If anyone was thinking of participating in this, I just wanted to give a heads-up that I am going to be out of town on the day that the stories were supposed to go live, so I've slid everything an additional week. You have more one more week if you were on the fence. Stories need to be posted to the collection by August 6 & they will go live August 7.

The stories are posting this weekend! I'm excited for it, though I'd probably be even more excited if I wasn't still beating my story into its final shape. Between this and rarepairs, I'm hoping for a decent September and October in terms of Caps fic.

This is a multi-fandom exchange with a 300-word minimum, and is vaguely themed for "tricks" (dark) or "treats" (fluff or porn). It's a lot of fun. The mod doesn't seem to have processed the RPF nominations yet, but I nommed a bunch of Pens.

So, nominations are open through 9AM UTC on the 17th, and so far, based on my shaking of the tagset, what we've got nominated is:

Caps - Alexander Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom, John Carlson, Braden Holtby
Isles - Nick Leddy, Anders Lee, Ryan Strome, John Tavares
Panthers - Aaron Ekblad, Jaromir Jagr, Megan Mitchell, Willie Mitchell
Rangers - Ryan McDonagh, Derek Stepan
Stars - Kari Lehtonen, Antti Niemi
Women's Hockey - Kacey Bellamy, Julie Chu, Meghan Duggan, Marie-Philip Poulin

...and PK Subban and Carey Price under Hockey RPF, which means the mods are pretty much guaranteed to nix them, since Hockey RPF gets specifically namechecked in the rules as the kind of umbrella fandom you aren't allowed to nominate under.
